Chris is the Uk’s only official Blind Bike Sports Photographer. Chris has always had a passion for motorbike racing however, when he started to lose his sight in the 90’s he could no longer ride and race, therefore he had to find a new way to still be involved with the sport he loved. This is what photography has enabled him to do, although Chris says that while initially his images were more about negative space as he was still getting used to taking photographs relying on the sound of the bikes and his knowledge of the course, however with practice and determination he was soon able to capture stunning images, that have been published in several places such as Camera craft Magazine and Club sport Magazine, as well as on several websites. During his journey into Bike Sport Photography Chris has faced a few difficulties along the way such as having to convince the Auto Cycle Union that he was not a danger. Chris continued to attend races and in 2020, he was finally given permission by the Auto Cycle Union to apply for, and gain Media accreditation in the same way as his sighted peers.
